Colourful life drawn to a close

Myke Ashley-Cooper

(30 June 1941 – 22 October 2013)

Myke Ashley-Cooper’s talents often enlivened the pages of Noseweek during the magazine’s formative years.

The popular cartoonist, known for his amusingly raunchy work, died unexpectedly  in Cape Town. He was the begetter of the iconic Mr Nose image (above). Myke created www.cartoonist.co.za, which benefited cartoonists nationally.

He leaves his wife, Merle, sons Brendan and Gregory, and daughters Michaela and Francesca.
