
New traffic fine collections are suspiciously complicated as some questionable names feature in the new deal.
The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA), set up to oversee the collection of fines from South Africa’s errant motorists, recently awarded a multi-million-rand contract for the collection of traffic fines to three companies, Matlaweng Magolego Troskie (MMT) Attorneys, New Integrated Credit Solutions (Nics) and a debt- collection company already well-known to Noseweek readers, Munnik Basson Dagama (MBD) Inc. This was done without tenders having been called for. How was this possible?
