Peacock vs Noseweek

Noseweek Issue #149, 1st March 2012   


Last week Inge Peacock, subject of the report in this issue headlined “Fashion victim” asked the Cape High Court to order us to remove the report from this website as it was harming her reputation.

Noseweek opposed her application arguing that not only was it too late for her to complain – the report was already widely available to subscribers and in 2000 retail outlets nationwide -  but while it was undoubtedly defamatory of her it was justified since it was substantially true and in the public interest.

This morning (Tuesday 6 March) Judge Andre le Grange gave judgment in Noseweek’s favour. Read the full text.

*Gasp!* She must be horrified! Imagine people knowing the TRUTH! What is the world coming to?
