Money, money, money! is the mantra recited by lobbyist/facilitator M K Malefane, when promoting the China-Southern Africa trade fair scheduled to open in Johannesburg in mid-May. China has already overtaken Britain, the US and France as South Africa’s single biggest trading partner. According to Malefane, the current trade fair or “expo” could result in “one of the biggest injections ever” of Chinese money into the region.
