A case in point here is statin drugs for cholesterol: Known bad side-effects and virtually NO proof of benefit (the ONLY people who have proven health benefits from cholesterol-lowering drugs are men over 70 who have already suffered a heart attack!), yet MANY of you are taking "cholesterol drugs". They are THE most profitable drugs of all time. And THAT is the reason you are taking them (nothing to do with your health!!!!). See: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/15/business/15drug.html?_r=1&fta=y - and many more articles showing that these drugs have no proven beneficial effects. Yet your doc is prescribing them to you! Amazing.
