Maphosa is a brute who should not be allowed anywhere near a school. Unfortunately, his kind are all too common in our school system. When will we learn that it is unacceptable to allow teachers to assault children, especially under the pretense of "discipline"?

The teachers I remember most fondly, the ones who gained their students' respect and co-operation, were the ones who treated us as human beings, deserving of respect and dignity.

Re: Karen's comment before mine...

She just had to go there didn't she? No matter what the situation, no matter who is involved, someone will pop up with "What about the whites? Think about the whites!"

This is disgusting! The double standards are disgraceful: it is clear throughout this country that black on black brutality is condoned and swept under the carpet. If that brute Maphosa was a white teacher, the headlines would once again have screamed 'Racist!!!' across the country. I hope that Vuyo wins his case and that he can start up a small business with his claim payout.
