Tree time in Bryanston

Tree time in Bryanston A non-neighbourly spat over the rights and wrongs of right of way

The lofty presence of a giant, 30-year-old pin oak, slap bang in the middle of their driveway, has caused an almighty row between well-heeled residents of an exclusive Bryanston complex. One of them, fiery Joburg insolvency attorney Alec Brooks, went as far as seeking a high court order against his neighbours to have the old oak cut down – and failed.

So what got Brooks so het up? Was it the night-time hooting of the Giant Eagle owl that has claimed the upper boughs of the 25m oak to roost on?

If the poor woman cant fit a 2 metre wide Merc 4x4 through a 3.2 metre wide opening, she should not be driving a 4x4 at all. This type of driver is a complete hazard on ZA roads

Hear, hear! One advance driver's course: How to reverse park. I'll pay half.
Pathetic.

I am so embarrassed that wealthy (and presumably educated) folk with too much money, can behave like spoilt children.
They clearly have little to do, and all day to do it in!
Probably Brooks will argue in court that Nose mistrepresented the facts and that the driveway is not 3.2m wide, but rather 3.1 m.

Indeed.

Get a LIFE!

Well done Greg and Cara. I have lived in Bryanston for many years, also down a pan-handle and I'm constanly amazed at the bad attitude of new people (with a bit of money) who move into the area. They think they own the entire suburb when they buy a small subdivision with and overpriced mansion on it.
