In nose91, we noted that the entirely avoidable death of 33-year-old Thembela Matiwane during a Caesarean operation should have drawn fire down on the Mowbray Maternity Hospital; almost a year later it still hasnt.
This should come as no surprise to the hundreds, if not thousands, of people across the country who have lost loved ones, in unexplained circumstances, within the walls of medical institutions. They know something of the real difficulties involved in exposing the wrongdoings of medical professionals, who seem to be exempt from public scrutiny.
