Zuma seems totally out of his depth with this whole presidency lark. I think the ANC NEC can do better next time at electing a leader who can unite a nation with a positive message of hope and create growth and jobs while reducing corruption.

I vowed that if a despot like Zuma becomes President of SA, then I'm outa there.....which is precisely what I did....hello from UK, bye bye SA.

I was at the opening of parliament and Zuma has lost it, not even half of the ANC MPs applauded him, several ministers were sitting with their hands under the legs during the his whole speech, at the dinner later on, not one word was mentioned about Zuma, not one picture on all the projectors around the walls, it was only about Madiba. He is likely to be recalled or maybe an honourable resignation due to health or something before next Speech to the Nation in February 2011

I have to agree wholeheartedly with the Editor's response to Elizabeth. Change can only come from within. Without people staying here to oppose the degradation of acceptable standards of behaviour and rule of law, there will be no chance of any change for a better S.A. Criticising from afar just doesn't do it.

When filling in IRP2 forms with staff some years ago, I laughed at the 8 spaces for child dependents on the forms, thinking this was such an unnecessary waste of paper. However, I was shocked by just how many staff we had who had more children than the 8 spaces provided. I was further shocked by the fathers (mostly truck drivers) inability to remember their offspring's full names and dates of birth. It just didn't seem important to them at all. I am quite sure if anyone asked our president the names and D.O.B's of all his 20 offspring, he probably wont be able to remember either. Clearly this is why he is a "man of the people".

Don't we all agree to that... being 29 or so this month, at a rate of a kid a year by the time he clocks 59, he could be the proud dad of some 31 kids... all would be entitled to a good chunk of taxpayers' money... ain't I scared?
