AIDS in the West is not spreading. At the same time there is an epidemic of other sexually transmitted diseases so the failure of AIDS to spread cannot be ascribed to safe sex. In fact studies show that AIDS is not transmitted through heterosexual activity. There are other possible causes for what has become known as AIDS. All this compels a re-examination of the original science.

Mark Hess - a former employee of Athlone Law firm H Mohamed and Co - blows the whistle on a long-standing scheme to rip-off illiterate and helpless victims of road accidents. Once Hess got wind of the scheme he quietly gathered evidence. Then he approached noseweek because of an article we had previously done on a single instance of road accident fund shenanigans by the law firm. noseweek in turn approached the Cape High Court for an Anton Piller order that would allow seizure of the documents from Mohamed's premises. Those documents are today the basis of a class action suit to reclaim the stolen money for its intended recipients. Nico Alant - a Reserve Bank investigator - has all the evidence about a crooked offshore scheme, approved by the Reserve Bank and condoned by highly-placed officials, that led to murder. For his efforts in trying to expose the Reserve Bank's role in the scheme, Nico Alant was hounded out of his job. Now the Reserve Bank is rushing officials court to try to silence Alant again.
